Monday to Friday: 11am - 3.30pm

Christmas closure 2020/2021:  The Library will close at 3.30 pm on Friday 18th December and re-open on Monday 4th January at 11.00 am

 

Visiting the library: You will need to book a seat in advance of travelling to the library – if you do not have a booking when you arrive you will be turned away. For more information on how to book, and what to expect during your visit, please see the page Using the Library Safely. The library will be open Monday to Friday, 11am - 3.30pm.

Postal loans: Please email iclass.enquiries@london.ac.uk with any requests for loans, and we will send those out to you. Please be aware that due to social distancing requirements it may take us a little longer to process requests than normal. The normal rules for postal loans will apply.

We are also offering a scanning service for members. Due to high demand for this service, we are putting a cap on requests at one scan of an article or chapter per week for each library member. Please email iclass.enquiries@london.ac.uk with any requests. Please also be aware that we will need to comply with copyright restrictions for all scans, and will ask you to complete a copyright declaration in every case. The usual costs for scanning (5p per page for an electronic copy, 10p per page printed) will apply.

Click and collect loans: We continue to offer our click and collect loans service. If you are coming in to use the click and collect service, please collect your items from the library desk. If it is busy and you need to queue please maintain safe distancing while doing so. The click and collect service will operate from 11am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday, in line with library opening hours.

If you would like to request any books to collect, please email the library at iclass.enquiries@london.ac.uk at least two working days before collection. We will let you know when the books are ready, and ask you to confirm on which day you will be collecting them. When collecting the books, you will need to show your library card at the collection point, and will then be given the books. The books will be handed over wrapped for your safety, but the bag they are in may not be strong enough to transport them for long distances, so please do also bring your own bag.  Please observe 2m distancing when accessing the collection point, and please wear a mask at all times when inside the building.

Returns: Books can be returned to us by post. There is also a blue returns box at the main reception desk in Senate House if you would rather drop them off in person.
